The Mission
Law Meets Activism
Mrinal Madhav has never believed that justice can be achieved through legal work alone. Real change requires political will, community mobilisation, and the courage to speak truth to power — in public squares, in legislatures, and in the streets.
This work has taken many forms: co-founding the Economically Weaker Sections Coalition, leading campaigns for women's safety, filing landmark PILs, coordinating COVID relief across multiple cities, and actively participating in public discourse on reservation policy, the EWS framework, gender-neutral legal perspectives, and governance reform — in Bihar and Delhi.

A Decade and a Half of Action
The Journey So Far
Founded MaMri Foundation
Co-founded MaMri Foundation with Marie Chanel Gillier to empower women and children in rural Bihar through digital education, scholarships, and community welfare — the first institutional expression of a lifelong commitment to social justice.
Women's Safety PIL
Part of the legal team that filed Avishek Goenka v Union of India — a landmark PIL that led the Supreme Court of India to direct the removal of black and tinted films from vehicle windows, with significant implications for women's safety and public accountability.
Women's Rights Campaign
Spearheaded a campaign demanding stronger legal protections and police accountability for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault — combining legal intervention with community-level awareness.
Economically Weaker Sections Coalition
Co-founded a multi-organisation coalition to advance the rights and welfare of Economically Weaker Sections — providing legal support, policy advocacy, and access to entitlements for communities long excluded from the benefits of the system.
Constitutional Rights Campaign
Organised public forums and legal awareness camps on fundamental rights across multiple districts — bringing constitutional literacy to communities that had never had access to legal counsel.
COVID Relief Coordination
Mobilised friends, family, and the MaMri Foundation network across multiple cities to distribute food, legal aid, and welfare support to migrant workers, daily-wage labourers, and the poor during the pandemic.
EWS Age & Fee Relaxation Campaign
Led a campaign advocating for age and fee relaxation for Economically Weaker Sections students — pushing for policy changes that would make higher education and competitive examinations genuinely accessible.
Community Justice Initiative
People centric problems and community work during the COVID pandemic led to the Launch of free legal clinics across 20+ villages in Bihar, bringing criminal and constitutional law expertise directly to communities that had never had access to a lawyer.
